Everton hold talks with Manuel Pellegrini regarding manager vacancy

Everton have held talks with Manuel Pellegrini as they look for a new
manager

The Chilean has been in the frame to succeed Roberto Martinez for a
while and is believed to have met the club’s major shareholder, Farhad
Moshiri, about the vacant managerial position.

Pellegrini, who is out of work after leaving Man City earlier this month following a three-year spell, hinted last week that he would prefer to stay in the Premier League. Everton, who finished 11th this season, are expected to meet a handful of other candidates in the coming weeks.

But Everton are also looking to hold talks this week with Unai
Emery with the Sevilla coach a leading contender to replace Roberto Martinez as manager at Goodison Park.

Everton are expecting to meet with Emery in the next 72 hours. It is unclear if the Spaniard is the club's first choice but they are keen to establish his interest in moving to England and any plans he has.
